Much more than a market ...

In the oldest neighborhood of Naples, San Gregorio Armeno, a multitude of very talented artisans exhibit their shepherds and their nativity scenes.

This district is also composed of many little shops to visit all year round to buy veritable artwork.

But at Christmas time the atmosphere becomes magical. All shops are open, there is every kind of decoration for the Nativity scene: small houses of wood and paperboard of all sizes, small electronic gadgets like windmills, fountains, waterfalls, lanterns, etc.

The shepherds traditional in terracotta are all hand-made, there are sheep shepherds, washerwomen, fishmongers, hunters, each with its own history.

But every year there’s new characters as Barack Obama and the Pope, politicians and sports, etc.
